In the summer season, as guests in Cal Masot del Gaià, you can enjoy a refreshing experience in the local swimming pool for free. The swimming pool is located in Els Manantials municipal sports area, 1.5 kilometres from our house, halfway between Santes Creus and Aiguamúrcia. The pool has deckchairs, umbrellas, artificial grass and changing rooms. If you like nature, get ready to explore several natural areas protected by Xarxa 2000 (European Network of Natural Areas) and the PEIN (Plan of Areas of Natural Interest). It is worth mentioning the known as Albereda de Santes Creus, ideal for a picnic or a nice stroll, while also providing an excellent opportunity to admire the monumental tree known as El Pollancre, which is well worth a visit. On the other hand, local wines are the perfect complement to the excellent gastronomic of the area. There are a number of cosy restaurants for you to enjoy! Did you know that Aiguamúrcia is the largest municipality in the Alt Camp region? The village is located between the Montagut hill and the Montmell mountain range, which separates Penedès from Camp de Tarragona. In its most western side, it reaches the right bank of the Gaià river, between El Pont d’Armentera and Vila-rodona; on the most eastern side, it also includes the high valley of Riera de Manlleu or Marmellà, a tributary of the Foix river.
